A sketch or two a day keeps the Doctor away
Well, I've been a bit ill over the last week and have let the drawings slide I'm afraid....and now I'm off galavanting to England for a few days! So, before I go here are a couple of quick sketches I did this morning whilst reminiscing of our travels. Ah, bathing in a bucket in a Russian garden shed and watching people eating turtles in China; those were the days....off to the ferry I go!

Autumn in Amsterdam
Lovely city to draw. I want to make a graphic adventure game soon and I think this is the type of style I'd like to go for. I think it will be really interesting to make a computer game in this sort of illustrative style as gaming and non-computer generated illustration don't tend to go hand in hand ! It will be a Victorian era game but with a twist - maybe a hint of futuristic sci-fi...? If you have any ideas for it then let me know!

Tesco Value Pencils
Last week upon almost completing a very average food shop, I was overjoyed to find a packet of 40 Tesco own brand colouring pencils for only £1. Forty! Hurrah! I should have spared myself the effort of yelling, "hurrah" in the aisles; these are the worst pencils every to have been made! It feels like trying to arduously scratch colour out of a twig, useless! Hopefully I'll get some use out of them though - in the form of firelighters! Tesco, you disappoint me.

Flash Game
I've just finished collaborating on a flash game with Will faulds and Chris Duffy, "Money from the horses mouth". (for poppenkasts' 4 hour game competition - took a little longer than that in the end but...(^_^). I did the illustrations, while Chris churned out a fantastical soundtrack, and Will came up with the awesome design and turned lots of tiny symbols into a superior working game! Below are a few screenshots, but check out the real working model at Kongregate!

Intricate
This morning, like every Friday morning, I received my weekly "IllustrationFriday" topic. However, this week, instead of dismissing said topic as rubbish, I decided to get into gear and drew something straight away.
I think what swayed me was the accompanying quote: "Drawings help people to work out intricate relationships between parts". Immediately I thought, BEARDS! Lots of beards! Joined together! With a few more beards!

In future I will attempt to illustrate more of these weekly topics; all I must say to myself is, "how could this topic best be illustrated with a beard....?"

Dinosaur Pile Up
This band I know from Leeds, Dinosaur Pile up, recently made a song called "Traynor", so of course I had to reciprocate and make an illustration called "Dinsosaur Pile Up"! Not that the song has anything to do with me, but nonetheless and excellent excuse to draw some fiendish beasts!
